BECOME ICELAND
A journey through Iceland reveals natural, primordial materials: hand-spun wool, horsehair, horn, reindeer antler, lava stone and driftwood. Hand- crafted objects- each unique in the world- are made-to-order by Iceland's foremost artists and artisans. Starkness, restraint and strength of design reflect the stunning raw landscapes of the country- at once ancient and yet utterly modern.
Sheep Horn and Horsehair Pendant
Made by Hvammstangi artisan Jóhanna Jósefsdóttir from deep espresso-black sheep horn strung on an adjustable braided horsehair cord with horn pulls. The pylon is approximately 2 inches wide.
Sheep roam wild all spring and summer feasting on wild herbs and flowers in Iceland's mountainous highlands. Their horns are transformed into works of art by foremost artisans like Jóhanna.
