Reindeer Antler 'Humpback Whale' Pin

Handmade by Þorgrímur Björnsson from wild reindeer antler to depict a humpback whale which can be seen breaching from the shores of Husavik in north Iceland. Approximately 2 3/4 inches long. Reindeer roam wild in Iceland's uninhabited interior highlands and shed their antlers as part of a natural annual cycle. Antlers are found and dried for several years before they are transformed into works of art by foremost artisans like Þorgrímur. Horn and bone versions are also available.
