BECOME ICELAND
A journey through Iceland reveals natural, primordial materials: hand-spun wool, horsehair, horn, reindeer antler, lava stone and driftwood. Hand- crafted objects- each unique in the world- are made-to-order by Iceland's foremost artists and artisans. Starkness, restraint and strength of design reflect the stunning raw landscapes of the country- at once ancient and yet utterly modern.
Bone 'Whale' Pin
Handmade by Þorgrímur Björnsson from bone to depict a humpback whale which can be seen breaching from the shores of Husavik in north Iceland. Each pin is unique, at approximately 3 inches long.
Bone creates the brightest, whitest tone for carving and is dried for several years before it is transformed into works of art by foremost artisans like Þorgrímur. Horn and reindeer antler versions are also available.
